Theorie der Sprache für sich genommen, sondern eher eine sprachkritische
Erkenntnistheorie finden lässt. Da Nietzsche die Sprache hauptsächlich im
Rahmen einer Metaphysikkritik, insbesondere einer Kritik des tradierten
Wahrheitsverständnisses behandelt, soll sich mit zentralen Begriffen, die
unerlässlich für das Verstehen seiner 'Sprachphilosophie' erscheinen, beschäftigt
Ausgehend von der Frage nach der Beziehung zwischen Wirklichkeit und Sprache
soll seine Sprachkonzeption aufgerollt und seine Begriffsbestimmungen von
'Metapher', 'Begriff', 'Wahrheit' und 'Erkenntnis' erläutert werden.
Als Beschäftigungsgrundlage wird die Abhandlung Über Wahrheit und Lüge im
aussermoralischen Sinn1 dienen, jedoch sollen an entsprechender Stelle auch
andere Schriften Nietzsches herangezogen werden.
Im nächsten Schritt (Kapitel III) wird die Sprachproblematik des Chandosbriefes,

Sprachverzweiflung des Brief-Verfassers“2 nachgezeichnet. Deutlich werden soll hierbei, dass die Verzweiflung Folge der Unmöglichkeit ist, sich weiterhin
sprachlich der Wirklichkeit zu bemächtigen, indem Einzelnes miteinander in
Beziehung gesetzt und unter Allgemeines subsumiert wird.
In diesem Lichte soll nun noch auf Chandos' Sehnsucht nach einer unmittelbaren,
neuen Sprache und auf seinen Entschluss hinsichtlich weiterer schriftstellerischer
Tätigkeit zu verstummen, eingegangen werden.
Den Abschluss wird eine kurze Betrachtung der formalen Gestaltkriterien des
Briefes bilden.
