Dabei wird deutlich, dass der überwiegende Anteil der Definitionen auf dem Konfirmations-/Diskonfirmations-Paradigma aufbaut.
Aus diesem Grund konzentriert sich der weitere Verlauf der Arbeit, insbesondere der Abschnitt zur Entstehung der Kundenzufriedenheit neben der Equity-Theorie und der Attributionstheorie, auf das Konstrukt des C/D-Paradigmas. Nach Hahn entspricht der Vorgang des „Confirmations/Disconfirmations-Paradigm“ der gängigen Konzeptionalisierung des Evaluationsprozesses.
In Abschnitt 2.2.4 werden speziellere Theorien und Konzepte vorgestellt, die einzelne Betrachtungsweisen des C/D-Paradigmas annehmen. Im darauf folgenden Abschnitt wird deutlich, welche Bedeutung der Kundenzufriedenheit beigemessen wird. Abschließend erfolgt eine zusammenhängende Erklärung der wichtigsten Begriffe: Kundenzufriedenheit, Kundenbindung und der daraus resultierende Unternehmenserfolg.
